Yesterday Erin joined Room 9.  We are up to 11 wonderful 5 year olds in our class now!

Welcome to Jesse!

Room 9 welcomes Jesse to our class.  We are so lucky to have another fabulous 5 year old joining our class.

Our morning routine

Each morning we get out our whiteboards and write the day, date and year.  We are getting so good at writing this on our own and we even write it before Mrs Allen gets it written on her whiteboard.

Autumn Fun!

Today we joined with Room 8 and had so much fun in the Autumn leaves.  Take a look at our movie.

n..n..nutella

Today our special letter is n.  Charlotte decided it would be a lovely idea to bring in some nutella and make sandwiches to share with Room 9.  We loved this idea!! First we had a chat about dipping the knife in the container carefully and then spreading the nutella so that we covered most of the bread.  We did a fantastic job and the best part was EATING our sandwich.  Yum Yum!! Thanks Charlotte for the treat today.  Mrs Allen knows we will all remember our "n" sound now.

Magnets, Magnets, Magnets!

Today at Discovery Time we launched into our Magnets Inquiry.  We put on our thinking hats and explored a whole range of exciting activities using different magnets.  We learnt some new words today such as REPEL, ATTRACT, FORCE, NORTH and SOUTH.  Have a look at the movie of our afternoon.  We can't wait to learn so much more about Magnets.

We are learning the "p" sound and letter.

Today we have been learning the "p" sound and letter.   Harry bought in a "Pass the Parcel" to share with the class.  We loved passing it around and we all got a turn at unwrapping the parcel.  Dyllan was the lucky last winner.  We each got a lollypop to take home.  What a fun thing to do on your first day of school Harry - Thank you for bringing the "Pass the Parcel" in for us.

Welcome to Harry

Today Harry turned 5 and joined Room 9.  We now have 9 children in our class and we are looking forward to seeing Finn, Erin and Jesse in our class this week.

Amazing Room 9 Runners!

YAY we all ran and finished the cross country!  Mrs Allen is so so proud of all the Room 9 children for their amazing running and happy smiling faces at the end of the run.  Awesome running!!!!

On Friday Dyllan started in Room 9.  Welcome to Room 9 Dyllan - we loved having another girl join Room 9!

Welcome Tahnul!

Today Tahnul started school.  We had two other friends visiting our class which meant we had doubled in size since Monday.  It was lovely to meet Harry and Jesse.  We are looking forward to seeing Charlotte tomorrow for her last pre entry visit before she is a big 5 year old.  We hope you had a great first day Tahnul and thank you so much for the yummy treats you gave to us today.

Move that Truck!!!

Today our whole school had an ignition day to launch our Inquiry topic "May the force be with you."
In the morning the whole school went outside and some of the teachers pulled Heather's truck .  Mr McKenzie timed them and Mr Williams was in the truck...they had very strong muscles!Just before lunch we had a turn to see if we could beat the teacher's and other classes times.  We pulled the truck with Room 13.  


We tried so hard and we were proud of our efforts.

More friends join Room 9!

Today Angel started school in Room 9.  We also had Charlotte visiting and we are really looking forward to meeting some more friends on their visits this week.  We have been busy settling into the routines in Room 9 and school life.  There is so much to learn when you just start.  Here are some photos of things we have been up to today.
