Today we were all given a treat for our feet! We were allowed to choose our own pair of gorgeous slipper socks. They have been knitted and given to our school by some kind, lovely people. Thank you!!! We think they are really cool, cosy, comfy and will keep our toes so warm on these cold winter days.
First we took off our shoes and lined them up like a shoe shop!
Today Kairu bought in some old old fossils and some pieces of pumas. We turned into Archaeologists and began digging to see what we could find. We came up with all sorts of amazing things that we thought could be buried in the sandy clay that we got to scrape away at.
Today we had 6 people in Room 9. We joined with Room 8 and had a great time in the snow - although it didn't really last for long! After we had a play in the snow we went to Room 6 and 7. We enjoyed building with the blocks, drawing, i pads and watching a movie. After lunch we decorated some biscuits - Yum! I hope you have all had a great day and fingers crossed it snows some more.
See you all on Monday.
Today Jackson bought in two ghosts he had made at home. He showed us all how to make our own. You need 2 tissues, some string and felts to draw the eyes and mouth on. Guess our special letter today.
Yesterday Harry bought in an egg he had soaked in white vinegar. The shell had disappeared and fallen off because of the white vinegar. The inside of the egg had hardened and felt all rubbery. We bounced the egg very gently on the table. We didn't want to bounce it too hard incase it went everywhere. Thanks so much for bringing in your cool science experiment Harry!
Today Charlotte's Mum bought in marvellous muffins that Charlotte had made. We are learning the m sound. Poor Charlotte was not feeling well today and couldn't enjoy them with us. Thank you so much for making them for your Room 9 friends Charlotte - we loved them so much - mmmm!
Yummy muffins with our milk and marshmallows!!!
Our lovely picnic time with our m food and drink! We are very spoilt in Room 9!
Today we had milk for the first time. Most of Room 9 children drank all the milk up. When we finished our carton we had to carefully fold it up and then we put them in the blue recycling bins. We loved the milk!!
I am so super proud of you all today at assembly. You all said your words so beautifully, sat and listened and sang our songs like experts. I just loved our first assembly that Room 9 presented. Well done to everyone.
Today we had lots of fun at discovery time. We had to make a plan and choose three activities we wanted to do. Sometimes we needed to be flexible and maybe change our plan if there were too many children at one activity. We used our initiatives and managed ourselves also. Have a look at some of the activities we could choose from today.
Today three wonderful children got to show off their amazing writing off to Mrs Warren. The children were so proud of their quality writing and we know Mrs Warren was proud of them too. These three children tried hard to sound out their words and write the first sound, leave finger spaces between the words and even write words they already know. You made Mrs Allen super proud today too. I wonder who will visit Mrs Warren next?
